New Rooms at the Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen: A Hotel with History and Style

The Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen continues to evolve: Following the 2023 renovation of the  third floor , the rooms on the first and second floors have now been redesigned—embedded in the history of one of the most traditional grand hotels in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The new rooms follow a clear concept: six distinct design and color schemes, inspired by European cultural and living spaces, now define this historic hotel in Aachen. The third floor was renovated back in 2023: rooms were combined into spacious, elegant junior or senior suites featuring separate living and sleeping areas, as well as a bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower.  Now the first and second floors have also been modernized. Each color scheme defines the atmosphere of every room.

Six color schemes, six moods

The Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen is located right in the heart of Europe. This location is more than just a geographical reference. It symbolizes cultural proximity, exchange, and the idea that places embody not only history but also atmospheres—a “certain feeling.” The new rooms are designed with precisely this concept in mind.

Each color scheme evokes a mood shaped by great European artists and thinkers. Not as a direct reference, but as an atmosphere. This creates a unique source of inspiration for guests in every room.

Mint symbolizes freshness and new beginnings. The color evokes what Claude Monet left behind: light, air, and movement. Monet transformed perception: away from clinging to the past, and more toward living in the moment. A mint-colored room feels like the first clear thought of the morning. Open, invigorating, full of energy.

    Blue
evokes a sense of calm and expansiveness. The atmosphere is clear, understated, almost still. It draws on the thinking of Rainer Maria Rilke, whose writings are characterized by depth and inner contemplation. A blue room is a space for concentration, for balance, for thoughts that should not be interrupted.

On a white coffee table, set against blue living room furniture and a floor lamp, stands a brass bowl filled with white flowers.

    Rosé
brings tenderness and poetry into the home. These rooms are refined, gentle, and subtle. They represent small, personal moments—such as after reading a good book in the fireplace lounge. They are inspired by the imagination of E.T.A. Hoffmann and the abstract clarity of Hilma af Klint.

Dark green symbolizes security and strength. The color references the spa gardens and the proximity to nature. It evokes the philosophy of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who always sought to bridge the gap between emotion and insight. These rooms provide a sense of grounding. They invite you to retreat and convey a sense of stability.

Copper is warm, deep, and sensual. This color palette is particularly effective in the evening. It is made for conversation, for a cozy atmosphere at the bar and bistro, and for the transition from day to night. It is inspired by Gustav Klimt, whose works combine brilliance, sensuality, and art into a single experience. A copper-themed room exudes a certain sense of festivity without being overbearing.

Cream ultimately stands for timelessness and clarity. The design is minimalist, serene, and architecturally inspired. It follows the philosophy of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe: structure, order, and a focus on the essentials. A Cream room has a subdued effect and creates space for clear thoughts.

The color scheme is consistent across the various room categories, ranging from Classic to Superior and Deluxe, all the way up to Junior Suites and Suites.

As a grand hotel in Aachen, the Quellenhof remains a place that blends city life, contemporary trends, and culture—ideal for
short stays as well as longer trips through North Rhine-Westphalia and the border triangle.
