It all started in 1916
A new spa and bathing quarter was built in Aachen based on the town’s centuries-old tradition as a spa resort. At the centre of this new area is a palatial hotel on the Monheimsallee, the building which was completed in only two years despite the turmoil of the First World War. The Hotelpalast Aachener Quellenhof is festively opened on 8 June 1916 in the presence of a representative of the German emperor.
